This place is great - we are at the foot of this fantastic mountain range on a 20 mile long clear lake - could not ask for a better campsite - well, we did actually. When we got here we picked a site with electric and water, but then we walked around and found a great site on the water, no hookups but we didn't care - even had a silly old beat up putt putt golf course.

We took out the chairs and sat on the beach, perfect - and then it rained and ruined our idea of campfire on the beach. Regardless, one of our very favorite spots. And we did play putt putt in the morning before we leaving.

As we drove through the last few miles of Canada we did get to see a grizzly. We had just stopped for gas in Beaver Creek, the last town and he just ran out of the bushes in front of a restaurant into the parking lot, I really thought it was a dog at first. He was a really pretty sandy brown color, sat nice for a picture.

Got back into the States without a hassle at the border, nice, because of course one of the questions is do you have any live plants,  fruits, vegtables, meat, etc. - Ken told them we had ceasar salad - we actually have a whole freezer full of meat and Allison was just eating an orange and I brought my favorite house plant with me - really did not want to declare any of that. And they never even asked about alcohol, probably because the cost of it in Canada is so high they know nobody drinks there.

Did you know they actually have a swath of land cleared between the U.S and Canada. Both when we came to Canada through Montana and when we crossed from the Yukon. There is a joint commission that gets together every few years and they go back and clear the whole thing again. Very official.

WELCOME TO ALASKA!!!
