Stayed @ sister Barb Elgie's
Early Christmas
We drove over to San Diego and had an easy 3 hour ride across the desert and over the mountains. It was great to see Gord’s sister Barb and all the family, 2 nephews and a niece and see how much their families had grown since last year. Barb had a great turkey dinner and all the trimmings, everyone contributed to the meal. Yum, Yum!!!
Also went for an afternoon to the ocean to "dog beach". The three dogs, Koal, Jake (Barb & Herbs golden lab) and Duke (nephew Steve’s black lab) all got to run and play and swim in the ocean. As people (humans) we too enjoyed the ocean, the wind and fresh air and walking along the beach.
We took the scenic ride home to Yuma, 6 hours instead of 3. Went to Julian, famous for it’s apple pies and of course a morning stop for coffee was necessary. A large piece of pie and ice cream and a pie to go and we were on our way. There was snow there, so we got to touch it and appreciate being here in Yuma!! Also stopped at Borrego Springs where Barb & Herb will be camping in January. A nice RV park and great golf course. Also lots of metal statues of animals along the road into the town.

Barrago Springs is the place Catherine and Alex hamilton are going to spend the month of February.....so she'll be thrilled to see some photos of the highway or the metal works.
