Well, for the past 4 days we were in Nice, California, on the shores of Clear Lake and the edge of the Napa Valley. We did some geo-caching touring around the lake. An hour's drive around the lake, but of course longer for us. It was disappointing, as mentioned before, about the condition of the lake. It was pretty, wine orchards around it, but very polluted. A real shame. They are trying to improve it, but still have a ways to go. We did make a visit to a winery for a taste and purchased some to take along. Found a great bargain in a grocery store, 3 bottles of California wine for $10 and a big bottle of dark rum for $30. Gotta like that. The only problem is the liquor  bill was once more higher than the groceries!!! Now I know why Yukon does not have liquor sales in grocery stores.

Now we are in Plymouth, CA. We drove many windy roads to get here, off the interstate and avoiding Sacramento. There were so many switchbacks up and down we were getting dizzy. This highway takes us along the edge of the mountains so we are on the scenic, slow tour.

We had thought of driving to Reno and Lake Tahoe, but there was snow forecast for there, so decided to head for the south and warmer weather. Slow and sure like the turtle, we shall eventually get there.

There were many ducks to greet us here when we arrived. The hostess feeds them in front of our spot and along the creek in the park, so Gord was in heaven (so many curly tails and shiny green heads). Koal didn’t care….she’s not a duck hunting dog, all she wanted was her ball when she got out of the motorhome. This area has a strong history of gold mining. Lots of tourist opportunities to visit old hard rock gold mines and even a ghost town.
