Hello hello hello!

Feb 1st - Today is a travel day...so I will spare the details as it was longer than expected. I am basically heading to Patong Beach in Phuket to crash for one night and catch a plan to Singapore the next morning. After being shuffled around between a packed ferry (everyone leaving the full moon party), several buses, a taxi and then a bus that broke down for about 30 min I finally arrive 5 hours later than expected in Patong Beach. I head right to sleep for my taxi is coming at 6:00 am for the airport.

Feb 2nd - A mentioned previously I am not one for big cities...but I am eating my words as Singapore is magnificent. Its hard to believe a city this size is so clean. However it is much more expensive than what I thought...but I was warned. I am staying in Little India which is just incredible....so much energy...I didn't see a another white person for many many hours....made me feel as if I was in India. I had an incredible Mussuman curry from a small cafe filled with locals. You know its good if they are eating there...and it was out of this world! One of the best meals so far. I cruise around a bit and then hit a quick nap...and actually watch some TV which I have not done in what seems like ages. Still just as boring as I remember...so I head back out to explore. I stumble upon a local bar for a drink and chat with a few travelers. Then to an another amazing Indian dinner of Tandoori Chicken and Masala....again...the real deal..so good!!!!

Feb 3rd - Up early and I hit the streets. I am off to explore...no map...no plan....just going to keep walking. I'm headed in a good direction as I ended up a Canning Park which is the sight of Fort Canning where the battle was fought for Singapore in the 1940's. After cruising for several hours around the park I take a tour of the old fort which was fun...and air conditioned cause it was HOT! After strolling the streets some more I head back to get ready for the concert. Zach from Rise Against was kind enough to put me on the guest list for the show. I am extremely stoked for him as out of all the kids that were playing music in the early 1990's Dallas scene, myself included, he has had to land the best gig of anyone...and he deserves it. His energy back in the Hagfish days was incredible...likened to Stephen
Egerton of the Descendants and you always knew he would go far. Rise Against played a blistering set getting the crowd pumped for the headlining band.  I had scene them once before prior to Zach joining the band and he adds energy that I feel they needed.  Muse came on next and put on one hell of a show. They are one act that I feel is hard to put a label on. They have their own thing...and it rocks. There are not many acts that I care to see at large arenas...but this is one band that can pull it off extremely well.  I forgot to charge my battery for my camera so I was extremely limited on photos. After the show I headed back to Little India for a drink and I met a super cool girl named Kelli. She is traveling solo...and extensively....going to many places that are really off the normal path. She has some outstanding information to share as we trade stories over some Tiger beers. Head back to the hotel to crash as its back to Thailand tomorrow.

Hope all is well!
