Arrived in Brisbane and caught a bus to Coolangatta. The hotel was incredible...almost a little too nice. The view was spectacular from the 10th floor room overlooking the harbor and ocean. I had a surfboard devlivered which turned out to be a lot nicer than the surf. The wind was howling and the surf was pretty sloppy....allthough I was told it had been almost flat the past few days. So 3 to 5 ft slop was just fine. I really was surprised as to how many people were in the water. Easily 150 in a about 100 yard area with 50 of them sitting on the one main peek. Still caught plenty of waves...it seemed that everyone either ripped or could barely surf. Hiked all over the town which has amazing views. It was a little more family orientated than I thought it would be....but that was totally cool. I was more in relaxation mode as the trip has a long way to go. Spent all day at the beach and had 3 surf sessions....good food and beer as well. Gotta get up early for the train up the coast! See ya!
