The Green Mango, which rumour has it is the best restraunt on Cat Ba Island, was having a second birthday bash so a pose of Hanoians took the mission down there to celebrate. It was a really good escape, particularly since I hadnt left Hanoi since the long weekend adventure to Tra Co beach.

The other bonus was that we had the beaches all to ourselves for most of the day. The Vietnamese seem realy un-keen to have any sun exposure so they tend to stay away from the beach till around 4, then, within minutes the beaches are swarming with people... but until then its quiet and lovely ;o)
