It is absolutely TIPPING it down this afternoon! We've spent the last couple of days painting the camp (with Tasha, Emily, Matty and selected friends) and working really really hard getting camp to be ready for the kids to arrive in 6 days...but today it's raining!

That's unfair to be honest, it's been a lovely day! Walking around in shorts and T-shirt doing some more painting and some music stuff, and then helping putting the water toys into the lake (yes, we went swimming, it helped to get some of the paint off our clothes!) The rain only hit just before 4 though it is pretty impressive. So we now have chill time in the cabin.

In my last entry I promised a Brits take on Walmart...all I can really say is it is how I imagine the "upstairs bit" (or downstairs if yours is a bit scummy) of Argos to be, just without the massive conveyor belt taking items up to meet their buyers in the real world. It was just incredible! You can literally buy anything and everything there, from clothes and food all the way to camping gear and guns. Yes, you read right, guns! We all joke about it over in the UK, but there was just a cabinet full of rifles in plain sight (including one in hot-pink, for the ladies obvs). Also, while the jokes about some of the customers are gross exaggerations, some of them are so so true! (I'll leave it at that...though feel free to ask me in person :-p).

So now there's some free time before food, so I'm gonna be getting on with reading. I'm so so glad I brought lots of books because there seems like there's be a few quiet moments when I'm not dealing with the kids where I can read and get a little bit of culture into my stay here.
