Best of Juneau! Whale Watching Quest, Mendenhall Glacier & Alaska Salmon Bake

Meighan decided on
Evening Whale Watching Quest and Guide's Choice Adventure Hike

Mum and dad saw the Mendenhall Glacier today and their salmon bake was delicious with a huge variety of food and a family performing. On their whale watching quest, they not only saw humpbacks and orcas, but they also saw the humpbacks bubble-feed (more on what that is when we get back home, if you desire), pods of orcas and Stellar sea lions and seals.
On my LONG hike (6 miles), we walked through the mountains (not up them) along a river that was literally overflowing its banks because of all the rainfall. We had to stop when we arrived at an avalanche field with the remains of the last one still evident. It broke the bridge and I walked on snow in August for the first time! I also saw the humpback whales bubble feed and got a great video of it too.
