We arrived at Banff at around 1:00 this afternoon. We continued straight up to Lake Louise to see this famous landmark as well as hike around the lake. Dad made it the full 2km to the other side and another 2km back again, although with a sore back! The weather was great, so we got lots of "postcard perfect" pictures and I waded up to my calves in the frigid water...way colder than Georgian Bay or the Snye River! After we finished at Lake Louise, we travelled to Johnston Canyon which is outside of Banff as well. The water has been carving a path through the rock for thousands of years, and the canyon will continue to deepen. Mum and dad hiked to the lower falls, which offers a spectacular view downstream and you can walk through a little cave until you're right beside the falling water...close enough to feel the spray! I continued to the upper falls with another family, as mum and dad were very tired by now after so much walking. The lower falls were just over 1km to hike to, and the upper falls were almost 4km. I finally reached the top and was rewarded by viewing the 30m waterfall. Once I got back to the car, we journeyed into downtown Banff to check into our hotel and have dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory. Over dinner we planned tomorrow's adventures.
