Trip End
Jan 08, 2012
This is the end; my last entry into the blog as I prepare to go home to Spain. I've covered approximately 34,800km in 4 months (not counting the return trip). It’s been a wild ride with its ups and downs, but I’ve loved it. Bangkok, Australia, Auckland (well, actually, not Auckland). I definitely would like to return to Western Australia to see the west coast properly, as well as visit the rest of Thailand – I suppose I’d better start saving.
I’d like to thank all the people who have followed my walkabout and I hope you found it as interesting to read as I did to write.
Finally, I’d like to paraphrase a famous speech from the film, Bladerunner, as said by Roy Batty (played by Rutger Hauer):
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe; tropical rainforests growing out of sand; flying foxes in Hervey Bay; boxing kangaroos in Marangaroo; scavenging quokkas on Rotto. I watched sunbeams glitter on the ocean off Cable Beach. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in the rain. Time to go home."
