I left for the airport early this afternoon to beat the traffic, only to find that my flight has been delayed for three hours; now might be a good time to reflect on some of the quirks in Bangkok.

1 - Ladyboys: some are obviously men, but if you have any doubt, think to yourself, "Is that woman merely beautiful or too beautiful?" If it's the latter then she's probably a ladyboy.

2 - Don't even think about hiring a car here, they drive on the left (like in England) but are lunatics with it. Besides there are very few signs with names in the latin alphabet, which means you'll probably have no idea of where you're going.

3 - The Thai 'alphabet' contains 44 characters - come on! That's just being greedy!

4 - Bangkok is football crazy. Just as we have the FC Barcelona shop or the Ferrari shop in Barcelona, I was amazed to find that here in the airport there's a dedicated shop to Leicester City! Go figure.

That being said, I've had a great time here and met some good people. I'll definitely come back some day, though it will be to visit the rest of Thailand.

Did you check the spelling of idiosyncrasies before posting it?
I hope you're not expecting people to write comments about your prose and/or David Baily abilities. Like Hugh Johns, your hands make most bananas look small. Norwich are gonna lose today methinks and the Wolves are gonna thrash the Geordies. I am also marrying N Portman once my divorce papers come through from M Kunis. May Budha be with you my fiend (sic)

Very funny, Chuck. I know who you are, Lawrence, or should I say Steve. Anyway I was already tired when I wrote it, so no, I didn't check it. 'Nuff said.
