As the weather was fine and clear we headed out to Dunham Massey, just a short trip down the Motorway. Dunham Massey was origainally owned by many of the Earls of Stamford until the property was given to the National Trust. With the benefit of our National Trust membership we had free access to the house and gardens. The gardens are lovely and there were plenty of beautiful daffodils still in bloom. Would be worth another visit in a few months to see even more flowers in bloom. We did a short guided tour 'Under the Stairs' through the servants quarters, kitchen and laundry. Very interesting - such a tough life. Then a wander to the Dunham town which took a little longer than expected as there was the annual 'Blessing of the Bikes' taking place in the small village and a parade of 100s of motor bikes along the road stopped the traffic for some time..A lovely meal at 'The Axe and Cleaver' pub then a walk along the canal back to the car park.
