Prague, or Praha, is the Capital of the Czech republic.  It is a thriving tourist destination.  Many would say one of the most spectacular cities in Europe.  The Prague Castle, in the Hradcany area dominates the skyline on the highest part of the city.  The town, on each side of the Vltava river is divided in sections.  New town, Old town, Mela Strana, Stare Mesto and the Jewish quarter.
With a rich history it is hard to imagine that this city only really opened up in 1989 after the 'Velvet Revolution'.
We arrived early and after dropping off our bags we strated walking.  There is muhc walking to be done in Prague.  We visited the town square and vaiuos parts of the city before having lunch at the 2 cats "resturance".  Traditional food, goulash, cabbage and dumplings, washed down with Pivo (beer) that is the cheapest drink in any establishment.  An old man plays accordian in the corner and it is a great start to our holiday.  Smoking is still allowed indoors which is alittle bit of a shock to the system.
Afetr retruing to our hotel, just near the castle we continue our sightseeing around the castle, which is huge.  Inside the walls is a large cathedral and many other buildings and courtyards.
Later that evening we walk again to see the city by night, which I think is where it is at its most spectacular.
It takes us sometime to come to terms with the Czech Money, Korona.  At about 1-15 AUD or 1-27 GBP we get 2000 K notes from the teller machine and appear to spend 100's on snacks and drinks.
We were very lucky with mild and fine weather and after walking our feet off we finish our last night where we strated with a meal at the 2 cats.  Pig Knee!  See the photo and video.
