A quick ferry journey from Dover, then a short drive to our first stop, which is basically a Car Park with many vans in it . But the town is right by the sea and it is a sunny if chilly evening, so a quick walk a glass of wine and bed. The following morning we walked across the dunes and near to Mahon Plage golf course which Geoff had played many years ago - looked nice.
Then we set off driving avoiding Toll roads, and a lovely driving it is. heading around Rouen, and then south , stopping at Chartres, which has the most wonderful old town and huge cathedral - well worth a stop.
We continued to Blois.
Actually to a campsite right by the Loire at Muides -sur- Loire, Camping Bellevue- Good Value and brilliant for Cycling from.
