I drove on to Shreveport Monday afternoon because play here will be early Tuesday morning.

6:15 AM !!!!

I figured if they play that early, they must really enjoy the game.  And they do!

Very welcoming group of dedicated players.  Although time was a little short, we had some great games.

After playing we went to George's grill for breakfast.  With a name like that it had to be good.

We were done early enough that I did some quick planning and made a drive to Denton TX for some afternoon games.

This was at Robson Ranch, a retirement/active adult community.

They are very interested in pb but have a lack of courts.  Everyday is full of afternoon play on the two indoor courts that are available.  And they stagger times for advanced, intermediate and beginner play.

There were about 20 people there.  In this case (I guess I need to tell it like it was), I was just somebody taking up a slot and overall this was the one place I would not return to.

Disappointing way to end my trip.

If they had more courts, I think everyone would be in a better mood.  They have fought with and lost to the tennis players about even having lines on a couple tennis courts.  They had one court marked, but the lines were removed.  Too bad, it was a nice enough day for outdoor play, and while 20 of us were inside with the majority waiting to play, I watched one couple on one tennis court (six were available) stand around and socialize more than they played.

This group did have a good idea for their nets.  Notice in the picture the duct tape on the bottom center.  When this just hit the floor, the net is at 34 inches.

Drove a bit more after playing in Denton and stayed in Wichita Falls TX.

Arose early Wednesday morning and made the drive home to snowy Colorado.

Great trip overall.  Played a lot.  Balanced that with seeing quite a bit of family.  I hope you enjoyed going along for the (3969 mile) ride!

Great time watching you travel across the country and have a variety of pickleball play. Glad you made it home safely. Ginger
