Well, I was so excited about my first playing location, I forgot to take my phone in with me (that's also my camera) and so I only have a picture of the exterior of the playing venue; taken as I left.
About 14 people came. McPherson is a young club. They have only been playing since August and only recently were able to get an inside venue for winter play.
The club was started by Priscilla and Larry. They had only played a few times on vacation, but as we who play pickleball know, it only takes a few times playing to get hooked, and when they returned to their home town of McPherson, they took the steps necessary to get the club going.
Now here's the small world thing, they learned the game from Chuck Zurbriggen in Frisco, Colorado. I played in Frisco last summer, actually right around the time they did. So, I had also met Chuck.
Another small world, Priscilla and Larry's son (not a pickleballer) lives in Ft Collins. So, naturally I encouraged them to contact me when they come to Colorado again and are looking to play.
Turns out I was the more experienced player today and I ended up talking about some of the rules regarding serve, kitchen and general play.
While I was there today, the YMCA presented the club with a new net. The Y also recently made new posts for the nets and seems concerned in getting things right for their players .So it looks like this club, although just starting, does have community support and will grow.

Interesting how small the pickleball world is. I met Keren Zerbriggen in Arizona last year and we are defending age group doubles champions at the Colorado State Games.
