A Typical Morning

"Okay Ruby, breakfast is ready." I announce. "Ahhh Genny; Ruby is a lizard." Dave reminds me. "I know that, but he needs to eat too." I say matter-of-factly.  Besides you know his name; that makes him more then just a lizard." "Mini, get out of the house! You startled Dave enough when he opened the cupboard looking for a plate." I giggle.

"Hi Baubles, on duty are you?" I ask. "What is with that hummingbird, and keeping guard on the clothes-line," asks Dave - to no one in particular.

"Look out Dave, there is another one trying to get in your ear." I very much laugh at the sight of Dave jumping back as hummingbirds repeatedly swoop toward him and hover no more then an inch from the side of his head.

"Whose turn is it to sweep up after the bats this morning?" I ask with a minor look of disgust at the bat droppings and bits of fruit and pits left behind from the night before. "There has to be something we can do to discourage them from hanging out here. The ones that are under the eaves outside the bedroom window are noisy, and require creative dodging when they are flying around. But the ones who eat their dinner hanging from the rafters over the porch - have got to go."

"When I get back I am going to hang CD's from the rafters," announces Dave.

"That will look dumb," I tell him.

"It will beat the heck out of this mess."

"True!"

"Okay, I'm on bat detail, can you set-up the "PIK", turn on the fan and get the bug spray please, the mosquitoes and sand fleas are starting to get me.

 "Dave, where are you going?"

"I'll be right back, I am going to get the mango I just heard fall from the tree; we can have it with our breakfast."
