Where I stayed
An email from apple informs that our IPad has landed in Miami, yippee!! So we race down to the falls apple store to pick it up.
We load up the Dodge van and bid farewell to the Fortune house.
1pm: The Fall shopping mall offers a most pleasant shopping mall experience. Waterfalls , fountains and streams flow thru lush plantings of palms and ferns with shops connected by boardwalks. Apple store is almost void of customers so the kids go wild playing games whilst I get the ipad setup. They have sold out of camera connector kits and 3G activation is a problem as I don't have a USA credit card billing address.
After much discussion with the apple 'genius' he sends me off to the AT&T store. At least now we have the iPad to use for navigation - and it does so brilliantly caching the maps that were viewed from the long gone wifi connection. Bye Bye paper maps.
AT&T can't do any magic with the 3G and suggest that I try a pre paid credit card, so off we go to buy one of those.
Lunch at Boarders cafe and yet another stop at best buys.
5pm: Drive down to West Key - would love to spend a few days down here kayaking, surfing, fishing, endless beaches and ocean views from every vantage point
Harrison slept the whole 3 hr drive, Tom and Gen watch videos on the in car entertainment system.
The night life at Key West lives upto its reputation and by 11pm its time to get the kids off the street. Having not booked any lodgings for the night, we were relieved and very happy that we found rooms at the Truman Hotel. The rooms were brand new and everything about the place was delightful.
