well it's been a while since the last entry and I'm trying to think what's happened.

basically, after set up week we had a week of no guests which meant we did a fair amount of boarding/skiing (first time I'd been on skis in 15 years!) and a fair amount of drinking.

then last week we had our first week of guests which went really well! we had a group consisting of grandparents, their kids and their grandkids including a 9 month year old baby. they were all really nice and gave us a good tip which was helpful!

Christmas eve was a bit weird - nowhere is open! unless of course you wanted to pay 5 euros to get into scotty's (english/seasonaire bar) which we didn't as we knew it would be rammed (some of our mates went and said they wished they hadn't). we ended up at a nice austrian bar down the road from where we live and spent the evening chatting to a german man called Ewald - it was quite fun in the end!

Christmas day was interesting too - we got up at 6.30 as we were doing breakfast for 7.30. then we did some prep for the evening meal and everyone headed back to ours for around 11. we did secret santa and had some champers and wine -  then a few of us headed out on the mountain which turned out to be a bad move (see picture)! so we met up for mullede wine and then headed back home for shower and to get back to the chalet for around 3.30 to make dinner for 5pm.

then this week we've had a self catered week. That meant that our changeover day was really long and difficult as we had to move all our belongings (food, personal kitchen stuff, recipe books etc) out of the kitchen and down 3 flights of stairs into the store room.

I'll tell you more about this weeks guests the next time I write!

anyway, think that's all for now - currently trying to work out what to dress as for "70's, 80's, 90's back to the future" new year theme - not too much of a broad range there at all! currently thinking punk rock but not sure how to acquire appropriate clothing for this in the alps.
