Buenos tardes from Bariloche!
I flew in today (fairly turbulent flight but I kind of expected that because of mountains, etc). This place is BEAUTIFUL! It is on town on a lake in the middle of a national park. Like Tahoe without the crowds. I´m in a great hostel in a basic, rustic room with a a wall of windows facing the mountains and the lake. I have a TV too so I can watch my great Argentina shows. It´s sooooo windy here and kind of nippy. Aparently the recent snowfall they had was sort of an anomaly this time of year so there is nothing left on the ground but the mountains are all white. I think I´m going to try to run tomorrow for the first time in what seems like forever. In my room you can really hear the wind whistling outside.
I just heard that one of my old coworkers is in Buenos Aires! I hope she´ll be there when I return in a week. Damn it would be fun to have another English speaking gal to pal around with!
I´m eating like nobody´s business. Just had a huge bowl of homemade pasta with this incredible bolognese sauce and topped it off with a bag of doritos and I´m sure I´ll eat again before the night is through. WHAAAT???
I have to tell you, traveling is the life. If I had the means I´d just keep going....You kind of get used to it and it´s like living in this dream world (which I am partial to).
Lastly, the receptionist at the hostel only spoke Spanish and French so I got to use my French...that has been super fun....
Lastly lastly, I got some jewelery stolen from my bag at the airport. It happened because I thought I was going to carry it on but had to check it at the last second and forgot to take valuables out. The jewelery had sentimental value which sucks. They didnt get my $300 US cash which is like $900 to them or my phone and other stuff. Suckers. My bag was so full that it was obvious that they just grabbed the 1st thing they saw. Oh well, you live and learn....

this place sounds amazing! is it the one that's the southernmost city? hope you can get in some good hikes.
travel rocks
I think it would be wonderful to travel and float among our 'brothers and sisters.' We're really all the same -just do things differently. Glad you could use your French. Very fun. Cool vistas at the hostel. xoxo M
Is it Christmas?
Just noticed that your posting is Dec. 25. Are we that far away?
Hola mi amiga
Sorry to hear about your jewelry, but you kept your phone ans cash thats good and btw doesn't it have an alarm on it as a tool?
It was unseasonably warm here in SF on Saturday, while you were facing snow and wind.
Hope your keeping warm and meeting cool dudes!
take care
