So we headed to the coast in the hope of even more sunshine than there was in
Santiago. Well we arrived and the town was covered in a thick fog which has been there ever since. So its back to wearing all the clothes I own!! The youth hostel, el Yoyo, is also interesting as I got bitten by a flea and I think there is only 1 portable heater in the whole place. Rob thinks its quirky, I think its pretty rotten. The thing to do in
Valparaiso besides see Pablo Nerudas house seems to be to do sweet FA. Everyone just bumbles about. There are so many strays here too and I keep wanting to adopt all of them, especially the small puppies and the ones with broken legs! Today we went around Valparaiso in a horse drwan cart which was fun, as I think walking around in this cold would have been very unpleasant. Tonight we head to la Serena which is near the Elqui Valley, where they apparently invented pisco, but I think after our tastings of pisco sours the other night we won't be trying any more in a haste as they gave us the worst hangovers of our lives! I will just be happy to be somewhere where the average temp is over 0.
