Picton, and the Marlborough Sounds

Then before we knew it our time was up and we had to leave the family again so that we could explore the west coast of the south island! We had originally planned to go over to the north island, but it worked out too expensive and time was a little bit tight as well! But at least we've saved something to come back for!!
Ha, time for a little bit of fun!! The branch of the family out here had a friend who very kindly lent them a house for a few days up in Picton, which meant that we could go out on the boat and play i the Marlborough sounds. It is so beautiful here, absolutely perfect!! There are little beaches hidden everywhere so most of the time it's your own for the day. Also, there is plenty of fishing and water sports to be done, although it was never quite calm enough to go waterskiing for us beginners!! The fishing was pretty cool, and we both managed to catch fish which is very exciting! We saw all sorts of wild life here, Penguins, Seals and even Barracudas who nearly ruined our days fishing! James nearly got it to jump in the boat though, which was fairly exciting!! Other than that we just let Craig show us his favourite place in the world, and relax while admiring all the scenery! Obviously we couldn't let it pass with out a little mention from the weather!! When we coming back into the harbour one day, the wind had picked up quite substantially and was creating some nice big waves for us to power through-needless to say we all got rather wet, but it was great fun!
