This past weekend I went back to Belgium, this time to Antwerp.  I had read reviews regarding Antwerp and it seem that a lot of people enjoy it more than Brussels - so we gave it a shot.  Antwerp has a bigger city feel to it than Brussels.  I saw my first castle there - it was cool (kind of looked like Cinderella's castle at Disneyland).  Overall, it's a very beautiful city and the day that we went happened to be absolutely gorgeous.

Irina and I have been having some trouble in the hood.  We were already feeling unsure about people in the neighborhood ever since we were egged.  But now, apparently, little boys love to harass us.  One little boy pretended to shoot me through our living room window (all Dutch houses seem to have large windows right on the street) and then he proceeded to mime the "I'll slit your throat" symbol at me.  Next, a little boy decided to throw candies and cuss at us.  I know this is all probably harmless, but we feeling a little like prisoners in our own home.  It's kind of sad.  But we've gone a few days without incident, so hopefully these were isolated events and the harassing will stop.

Beach

Irina and I are getting really good on our bikes (knock on wood).  I really love to ride (we'll see if I still feel this way when the cold arrives).  We decided to ride to the beach (yes, they have beaches here).  We rode about 14 miles round trip.   It's not that far, but it was very fun.  The beach was very nice, big, and much like California's beaches.  It was a lovely day - I was very tired when we made it home.
