Nothing planned this morning other than breakfast and heading for the beach!  This is what we have all been waiting for!!  Deck chairs lined up, sun block on and chillax!  Never happy, within 3 hours we are happy to leave the beach and get out of the sun!  Beautiful clear and warm water though, much warmer than our showers!

At 2.30pm we are off on our sunset cruise.  We start off at Monkey Beach where we can either swim or kayak to the beach.  ( I chose to swim!  All good exercise, trying to burn off these buckets!)  Typically I forgot my sea shoes!  I get the mickey taken out of me something rotten for having sea shoes and today of all days when I need them and the others think they are a good idea they are safely tucked up in my back pack!  Grrrrrr!!!!  On the beach full of, well more tourists than monkeys if I'm  honest, we manage to get a few good shots, umm I mean pictures!  Not those kind of shots!!  Mind you, after Chris got randomly bitten  by a street monkey last night he probably would have gladly taken a gun with him!  Yes, he did have to go and get a rabies jab which he will have to continue for the next few months!  It couldn't have happened to anyone but Chris!!

Back to the boat and we head off for snorkeling and/or kayaking.  I brave my contact lenses and don a snorkel.  So happy as this time the mask doesn't leak and it is actually clear enough to see out of!  Hundreds of beautiful and graceful fish all around me.   Colours that I cannot even begin to describe.  I can see why diving is becoming popular.  Back on the boat we had for Maya Bay.  This is the famous set of the film "The Beach" with Leonardo De Caprio.  The highlight of the trip .......  ummmm well nope, it wasn't actually!  We had to swim to shore, where people stepped on a sea urchins and I managed to graze my knee on the coral (it's fine, honest, just a scratch and a bit of blood!)  We had a short walk to find well ummm mud and rocks!  The tide was out, the beach unrecognizable!  So we practice doing air jumps off a log and trying to take photos of each other doing it!  My jumps are rubbish, or was it the camera operator??!!  Kate and Lauren are the queens of air jumping!  Back to the boat we sail off and drop anchor 10 minutes later, just in time for tea and the sunset.  Great dinner and such a beautiful backdrop.  The most beautiful and romantic setting but so bloody awful when you are on your own and there are couples everywhere you look!  The few solo travelers sat together, all looking at each other and talking gibberish to help each other out.  Just what friends are for.

Back to the Island we meet up for drinks outside the chalets before heading to Hippies Bar where Im, Bex's boyfriend works.  Now you'd think we'd have it made with Im behind the bar but he got stuck in the DJ booth instead, probably on purpose!  Our reputation precedes us no doubt!!  A great singer with an electric guitar was followed by the fire and knives show.  How do they do what they do with, well chains of fire!  I can't even catch very well and they throw these chains around like majorettes!  (Norton FC are certainly safe from me on the team!)  So the drinks flow, the music cranks up and the party gets started!  Dancing on and is not so easy!!  And yes, I did start the second dance revolution of the trip!  And no, I didn't dance on the table, I left that to Jelly!  For some stupid reason though I had decided to wear my jeans to protect my legs from the mossies!  Bad idea!  I looked like I'd just walked out of the shower by the time we'd finished dancing!  It's very funny when you only have a couple of drinks (and yes I did only have a couple, honest) to watch the others dancing around like loonies!  I can't wait for the photos!  Well maybe I can of my nice drenched sweaty look, but the others will be good!  Typically my camera died within 2 minutes of being at the bar!  (note to Pam, Phi Phi is THE place to dance!)  I venture back after 1pm, exhausted and dripping wet (no I didn't fall in the sea!).  So thankful for that cold shower now I can tell you!!  Bry is already home, only Carolyn out partying.  Finally she wanders in at 3.30am and now I can sleep soundly knowing our chalet is complete!  Blimey, I'm turning into my Mum!!
