Amanda came over today and we dug out our passports, signed them and filled out all the emergency contact info....I have butterflies in my stomach I am so excited. We also registered our vacation with the U.S. Embassy (never know when you might need them) and confirmed our flights. In a few more days we will go back and confirm our hotel reservations.
Would it be bad of me to get my suitcase out and start packing now?? I have been working on my packing list for a while now and adding things as I think of them. I also don't plan to pack many clothes.....heheh, I intend to buy them in Scotland!! Wonder what Customs is going to think of the bubble wrap I am taking.....no silly, it's to wrap the alcohol I am bring back!!
Notified the bank today of my intended travels....etc. so they won't disable my card :-O
Sat the hubby down at my computer last week and showed him what bills he would have to pay and how to pay them all on line....he won't have to write any checks, just the amounts in the check register. I tried to make it as easy on him as possible! I have to get Skype set up for us yet so we can stay in contact. That is going to be a toughy for him as he absolutely hates web cams!!! But if he wants to see my happy, cheesy smiling face while I am away.....he will have to adjust his thinking!
And oh yea!! Got a notification from the airline that the first leg of our flight has been moved up nearly 2 hours......yikes!! But we should still have at least a 2 1/2 hr leaway from the time we should arrive at the airport and the time our flights leave. I have gone online to study the layout of the airports we will be going through and only hope I have not created more confusion for myself!!
I guess for now I will have to be content with goo-goo and gaa-gaaing over the pictures and information I am still finding on line about Scotland.....I am beginning to think we have not allowed ourselves enough time to see it all!!
It seems that with each passing day my metabolism is increasing, the stomach flutters, increased heart rate....oh the excitement builds daily!! I am already smiling about this trip and have a feeling I will be for a long time to come. But for now.....
Sláinte !!
