Legoland, Denmark - Only took 24 years to get here!

I have wanted to visit Legoland since I was about 6 years old. Unfortunately, mom never managed to win us a trip, so I've had to wait.

Four years ago, Gavin took me to the parkl in Windsor. Legoland UK was great, but visiting it only seemed to fuel my desire to visit the original park in Billund, which I believed would be even bigger and better.

I was not disappointed.

The rides were great fun and the 4D theatre was amazing, but it was the Lego sculptures I had really come to see.  The model village was spectacular and complemented the one I had seen in the UK with different scenes exhibited.  There were Lego models everywhere (as you would expect) including animals, which were very impressive.  It's the all the little details and touches, such as little model people mowing lawns or dogs chasing postmen, that make it so magical and absorbing.  It was a great day.  We spent 10 hours at the park, but to see everything properly would have taken several more.  If you've never been, and loved Lego as a child, then it is the place for you.

Lego anyone?

And the highlight for Gavin - had to be the Legoland Waffle ice-cream. You need to see the photos! It had to be largest ice-cream I have ever had served in a cone. Lunch was delayed by some hours afterwards.
