Where I stayed
Border Village Roadhouse
Hit the South Australian border - 1445 kms travelled, and it feels like it! I nearly abandoned to the bus for the day at morning tea - was in a lot of pain with the knee and shoulder/neck, and the weather was very cold. Young Luke was the same with his knee. However, after the break and some painkillers, things got a bit better and we made the 192km journey. In fact I felt pretty good by Eucla (12kms out from the boarder), to the extent that I sprinted away with Nic up the hill to the settlement and lookout! But overall it was a pretty slow day taking just over 8 hours on the bike.
Saw our first live kangaroo today. The view of the ocean from the Eucla lookout was refreshing after seeing such a flat and barren landscape for so many days.
Looking forward to bed tonight, and dream of the 182kms to the Nullarbor Roadhouse tomorrow (I don't think!).
Mark is still travelling well, although his butt is hurting like the rest of us. He is also entertaining everyone with his witty humour, his loud laugh and outragious 'french' accent!
