Due to constraints of cooking on the boat, the Merkman has had to alter his traditional pizza making rituals and establish new parameters for churning out mouthwatering works of art. Satisfying cravings, he has perfected a new wood-fired pie that is cooked on Gato Go's grill.  Perhaps if something happens to us and we get stuck here in Barra, the Merkman will be able to replicate a successful marketing plan similar to The French Baker (to be discussed in a future blog) and earn some income for the Gato Go cruisers. 

Pictured is the latest pizza creation which consists of a fresh basil, spinach, and garlic crust adorned with marinated grilled portobella mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, sweet red pepper, and fresh spinach.  Buon apepetit!
