Returned to Bangkok for the last in the list of visitors passing by this part of the world, while I'm here. Noam, my friend from Israel was passing by on the way back from a business trip in Taiwan together with colleague Lior (not sure of spelling), but he'd probably already overdosed on the "cultural thing", as he seemed more keen on getting to a beach. As that would imply at least four hours of sitting in the train that was deemed a BAD (urrrrhh) idea, and we ended up staying in the area, visiting Bangkok's Phrae Kew (with about a million other people) and enduring a shopping extravaganza complete with karaoke sessions and arcade racing games.

I'm currently typing this story on my latest acquisition (Eee PC) a little spot of advice from Noam, and something which hopefully will repay itself for all the time I'd otherwise have spent sitting inside internet cafes typing out a blog: now I can type out my tales of woe whenever I so should want (at least if there's power available, as the battery gets a bit fatigued after just two hours. Oh yeah, and of course you go through copious amounts of tea, coffee and orange juice whilst sitting in a Wifi cafe... hadn't thought of that until now...

Our saturday night out on the town in the midst of Pat Pang (The Entertainment District) turned out to be more chaste than I could have anticipated, finding probably the only bar in town that didn't have the band performing in bikini (which was especially fortunate for the male singer), and the Singha's just kept on coming. Next day was spent leisurely recouperating in the local coffee shop (no Dutch pun intended).

Maybe Bangkok just ain't so bad..
