The journey from Whanganui Via the river road to Napier was a long one, across via the stunning Lake Taupo, and then down to the East coast town. Napier town was completely destroyed during the 1931 earthquake and was rebuilt in the art deco style of the time. Whole rows of lovely low rise buildings make up the town and it's quite impressive.

Napier it’s self sits in Hawkes Bay and the whole area is stunning, I took a ride around the bay and onto the smaller settlement of Hastings before a lunch time pit stop at the lovely Roosters Brew house selling their own excellent brews.
