When will the rain stop?? We have now arrived back in
Kunming and booked a train seat (we hope to upgrade to beds) for an 18 hour journey to
Guilin - the karst scenery around Guilin is so beautiful they put a picture of it on the back of the 20 yuan bank note. Hopefully the weather will be warmer (but perhaps too warm) and not so wet. Right now in Yunnan province its been raining hard almost every day for the last couple of weeks. The rivers are swollen and its putting stress on the newly built flood defences. Unfortunately its the Chinese holiday season so beds on trains are fully booked 10 days in advance.
