Okay, we`ve discovered that pinning all your hopes on a couple of days sitting on the beach in the sun does not increase the chances of it happening. Here in Cancun we say good bye to most of our old tour group and add on a new bunch but sadly the weather has been less than desirable in one ofthe most famously desirable placesin Mexico. We`ve come face to face with the Eastern-most point in Mexico and the blue blue blue waters of hte Caribbean but its colder and windier than expected. Still, we jumped a bus to the ferry and spent the day on Isla Mujueres (Island of Women) which was great despite the inclement conditions.

With two other friends we hired a golf cart for the day (yes, barely more powerful than a mower, but sloppier steering) and cruised around checking out the stunning beaches (fully equipped with beach bars, beach beds etc just like the movies) and the one Mayan site (which did NOT look original to me).

To be completely honest we did not discover the REAL Cancun as we opted for the day on the island but this place really feels like it was made for Americans so we donīt feel like we missed too much.
