The bus from Cusco to Puno was bad, but it got
worse ther next day. After that bus we decided to
spend a little more and get a first class bus to La
Paz. We were waiting at the station and then it pulls
up- a lovely big luxury bus with toilet, reclining
seats DVD player.... great. We're about to get on it
and this guy comes over and tells us no, it's been
cancelled, and brings us out the front to this shitty
little chicken bus. I was not happy. But after 5
hours we reach Copacobana, and we've got an hour to
kill. We we get back to the bus, the driver says no,
you're changing to another one, and this even smaller,
shittier bus pulls up. The kind were our rucksacks
have to get tied to the roof. Then after an hour on
this bus, we're told to get off again, and get on a
boat! Which we still had to pay for. Eventually we
reach La Paz (four hours late) and just go to the
first hotel we see. Of course it's booked out, so
it's off to find the next closest hotel or hostel.
Next time I'm flying.
