Sorry but the football deserved a log all of its own! Let me begin by saying: Vay-Vey-Vo Vavy Vasco-oo-woo-oo!! The football was unbelievable!! Yup even for a ldy such as myself who unfortuantely will be lost forever to the concept and understanding of the off-side rule!!

They really go to town here at the matches - kids doing cartwheels on the pitch, big drums, chants, fireworks, music, singing and scantily clad ladies dancing - much to Gary´s joy! The atmosphere is infectious - you find yourself dancing away and chanting God knows what in Portuguese - I was singing, clapping, dancing and hurling abuse all at the same time - Gloria Estefan was right - "The rhythm is gonna get you" - it got us! And what was even better was the supporters around us really tried to get us involved which was great. They know their football - Gary was wearing his Liverpool FC top and some random Brazilian tapped him on the shoulder and said - you would prefer "You never walk alone, no?" - how random! Also no-one keeps their clothes on at these things - I´ve never seen so many pairs of man breasts in my life!

Took some cracker photo{s and a mini-movie which I hope I can upload onto this. Then suddenly the crowd went bonkers and started chanting soemthing - we all joined in - was really catchy - you see the ref gave a Vasco player a yellow card and I can only assume we were hurling Portuguese abuse about the ref´s mum or sister or something!

It was class - this one player did that thing where you kick the ball over the back of his head in a kind back flip thingy-ma-jig. The score was 3 each!

It truly was a fantastic night! Hope my description has done it justice!
