Once again I find myself in London, waiting to fly out of the UK. I've already done all the touristy stuff here, well most of it anyway, but I came a couple of days early so I could meet an old friend.
Michelle kindly came up from West Sussex to spend the day with me, and fullfill her promise of buying me fish & chips at the seaside. Before heading to the coast, we went on the London Eye, which is one of the few touristy things I haven't done in the big smoke. It was ok, a nice view of the city, but nothing exceptional, although I didn get some nice shots of parliament.
After that we headed out of the city and took the train to Michelle's house, a good hour and a half away. Her family were lovely, and I got a nice personal piano recital from her mum. :) Then it was off to Bognor Regis where Chelle bought me the fish & chips by the sea she's been promising me for 10 years. :) It was a lovely day and an excellent start to my wee trip. :)
I'm off to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow, with a 14 hour stop over in Sri Lanka, so that should be fun. :( I don't get into Borneo until Tuesday, so it's going to be a long couple of days, with a lot of lower back pain. But then I think about the tropical beach I can relax on at the end of it, and suddenly it's not so painful. :)
