I flew back into Spain this morning, and the 20 degree sunny weather here really made me wonder why I left it so long to come back. It was pissing down in Belfast this morning when I left and chilly 6 degrees.
At Malaga airport I casually asked how much it would be to rent a car for a week, not really expecting to do anything about it, but when the answer came back only €20 per day, I figured I´d spend that much on buses anyway, so I got myself a wee Nissan Micra, just like the one I had in Barcelona last year. :)
The "Flyin´ Micra" made it up to Sevilla in about 2 hours, but I then spent another 2 hours driving around the city looking for my hostel. From what I´ve seen of Sevilla it looks beautiful, lots of old castles and cathedrals. I didn´t expect it to be so big, but it is the capital of Analusia and Spains 4th largest city. My hostel´s right in the middle which is a problem because lots of the city centre is pedestrianised, so I´ve had to park about 20 minutes walk away. Like most big Citys, parking here is a nightmare, so I´m hoping the car´s ok when I go back in the morning.
My friend Rosa arrives tomorrow night, so I´ve got all day to go sightseeing or whatever on my own before the drinking starts. :-)
I really missed Spain...
