Today we set out with another day of quite a bit of driving, although this day we were lucky enough to get the back seat where we could kick back and like myself sleep most of the way (i think i could sleep anywhere!) We always have quite few pit stops, quite normal means ice blocks so i am not complaing :)

This geazer was quite a site on our road trip today, wheres wally?!?!?

Around the middle of today we had quite a mountainous drive up to Taurus Mountains where we got to visit the spectacular site of Arykanda. Arycanda (Arykanda) is a unique Lycian city, built upon five large terraces ascending a mountain slope, and was known for having the most pleasure and entertainment-loving (and debt-ridden) citizens.  The city overlooks a magnificent valley and its view makes it one of the most spectacular sites in Lycia.

This site had been hit by quite a few earthquakes in the early centuries but you could still see quite a few ruins of the baths, houses, cemetary, stadiums and the various theatres there. it was a roasting hot day to be trekking up a mountain and you could see the sweat pouring off people but it was worth the effort.

Our journey then continued onto Kas which was our destination for the night and of course we were heading out again straight for the beach! Kas was a picturesque old fishing harbour.

The beach here was around 10 metres long, surrounded by touristy resorts but it was quite a place with crystal clear water! The most amazing part about the water here was that it was so warm but also had cold springs pouring into it, so you got some very warm (No it is not what you are thinking!) and some very cold patches, proved for quite an experience!

We enjoyed ourselves swimming about there in the sun until our stomaches got the better of us and it was time for some food. We had a meal with most of the group tonight along the seaside. We had a fantastic 10 plate entree of all kinds of dips and appetisers then bettered that with a sensational calamari steak for the main!! indeed i do love my food, can never get enough of it!!

Tonight there were some suspictions surrounding our good mate Ghangis who we believe may have been investing some of his good earned cash into the local woman, he had a nice glow and energy about him which i had not seen before!!

it is roasting hot here, so i am off to hit the water, enjoy!!!
