Our arrival into Mendocino was nothing short of perfect.  The first B&B whose door we knocked on opened to the smell of fresh baked cookies (Peanut Butter) and a warm welcoming smile from Denise, part of the husband and wife team who own this amazing property, so you can see it wasn't a hard sell.  It's important to note that the cookies were baked by Mitch as is everything except for the breads and muffins which are baked by Denise.  We stayed in Annie's room which was divine.  Decorated in feminine floral overtones with a bed that can only be described as sleeping on a thousand marshmallows (pink ones of course as they are the best ;-) - heaven after some of the beds so far and I'm sure it's only going to get more interesting.  After settling in and enjoying a few more cookies from the upstairs salon I headed out for a run and some much needed fresh air after a long day in the car.  It's also a great way to get a look around the town.  The headlands were spectacular with the waves crashing against the cliffs.  The village itself was a high end mix of boutiques, art galleries and quaint restaurants.  We had dinner at the Mendocino Cafe which had views to the ocean and fabulous service as well as fresh food (halibut was like the fish caught and cooked fresh at our batch in Mahia).  The next morning not only awoken by sunlight streaming in but also an amazing breakfast delivered to our room.  If you're in need of some R&R and pampering then this is the B&B you need to go to.  We walked off breakfast round the cliffs before packing up to head on down the coast.  This is definitely a town to come back to for a summer vacation to enjoy it in full.

Love this city. Visited last year and I have used a site www.zaranga.com to book the vacation rental
