Where I stayed
On our way out of Seattle we stopped off to see Jimi Hendrix's grave at Greenwood Memorial, this was pretty surreal, apparently they used to have a stratocaster above it kept getting pinched. The rest of the drive to Astoria was pretty uneventful and Astoria was a dump so we carried onto Seaside (or was it Sunshine Gareth ;-). This was the right decision as the beach was stunning, long stretch of sandy coast. We got a great discount at the hotel and a room with a fire and stunning views which really topped it off (the wind was freezing - how much further to California ??). Before leaving the next day we went for a walk along the promenade and through the town which was reminiscent of Papamoa a few years ago.
