Where I stayed
Edmonton, alberta, canada
Well, it is finally here. Day one of our trip to Mexico.
We got up early, and was on the road by 8:30. (early for us, as it was holidays you know)
Took our time, got to edmonton by 2:15pm, with a couple stops. Roads were regular winter driving, slippery in places, nice and clear in others. Stacie slept most of the way, waking up mostly when we stopped. Relitivly uneventful, saw a 18 wheeler in the ditch, a burried car in the middle between the 2 highways, and 5 moose trying to eat in the snow, standing together.
We got to edmonton, checked in at the place we were staying (granny and grandpa's) and then went to southgate to grab a hat for myself, and sunglasses for stacie. Found the sunglasses, did not find a hat (other than one's for over $40. Decided not worth it, and can pick one up in Mexico for cheaper.
Back to the house, supper consisted of fried ham in a sugar and clove mixture (very good), baby potatoes, salad with mandarin oranges and blueberrys in it, and squash. Was a great dinner.
Had a drink or two, to celebrate the beginnings of the holidays, and then went to bed around 10:30, as 1am comes quick.
