This will be a short entry but I thought I should include it nonetheless. Knowing that we wanted to spend the bulk of our day in Columbia, we decided to just do a quick drive through historic Sonora. Along the way we saw signs for the Tuolomne County Museum in Sonora and waded through the confusing streets to get there only to find out that it wasn't to open for another hour...and we weren't about to wait that long...so...back on the road.
Another landmark that I wanted to make sure we saw was the St. James Episcopal Church, also known as the "Red Church" because it is painted all red...which was quite peculiar. We saw this at the end of old town Sonora on our way to Columbia and snapped a couple pictures.
