Sam: Sihanoukville has taken us hostage. Arrived on sunday night after a bus that was supposed to take 7 hours but took 12, only planned to stay a couple of days but we are still here. Every day we've planned to get the bus to Phnom penh (our final stop in Cambodia) but somehow managed not to! Life is so easy here, chilling by the gorgeous beach with crystal clear water. Their are lots of locals that work along this beach selling everything you can think off. Every morning i have a fresh mango cut up in front of me served with chilli salt, its my new favourite thing. For lunch we usually buy local prawns caught from the sea that morning. There is also a really good nightlife here, more like Ibiza than Cambodia! So this has been my life for the past week. Oh apart from the ''booze cruise'' basically a boat tour organised by a local bar that went to an island an hour away where a group of 30 of us stayed all day, drinking! It was fun. By the end of the day (1030pm) everyone was fairly drunk and some joker decided to jump off the boat into the ocean, it took an hour to find him. That sobered me up! Toad boy managed to come home minus his t-shirt and sunglasses but managed to gain a black eye and a badly cut up foot. Hilarious story really, ill let him explain.

Giles:  Well funny in a "you had to be there" kind of way i guess...  still got a cracking black eye though, five days on.  I was just chatting to someone in the waters when a volleyball came out of nowhere straight into my face, but the odd thing was I didn't even flinch - so drunk I didn't feel a thing.  The guys on the beach looked terrified who were playing volleyball and the lass I was chatting to was very concerned, but I didn't even stop my sentence as it hit.  Alcohol is good for pain.  And my foot, well nothign funny to tell as I can't recall how it happened, but it's left me hobbling for a few days now but it's almost better.  Just counting myself lucky I only came back without t-shirt and glasses - other peopel forgot to bring back bags with wallets and cameras, other peopel had cameras stolen or lost - everyone we've spoken to had at least one thing misplaced.  Overall a great time though!

Nice place here, very relaxed during the day, fairly mental at night, guess a little taster of what Thailand's beaches will be like.  Off to Bangkok Monday!  The only annoying thing was the amount of kids who wouldn't leave us alone trying to sell stuff, asking why not everytime we said no, then arguing with each other and the tears rolled when we would buy a mango off one and not another.  None of them understood the fact we didn't want 4 mangos, one from each of them.

Off for a relaxed last evening here now!

Much love, Gam and Siles xxx

hello beach bums!
Honestly you two! I swear your blogs just keep getting funnier! Although I'm guessing your injuries weren't so funny Giles when you'd sobered up! Bit disappointed there were no 'dodgy Asian bikes' involved in this story though! ;-)

Sounds like you're still in heaven. Wait till you hit Bangkok - that's an eye opener. Watch out for those lady boys!!! Where are you staying in Bangkok?

Right, that picture of those prawns are making me hungry, so I'm off for good old fish and chips (bet you don't get those in Asia!!!). I'll email you over the weekend.

Lots of love xxxx

What a lovely way to spend a week! I am so envious of those mangos and prawns too! They looked delicious! Actually Giles, the photo of your 'injuries' wasn't as bad as I had thought it might be!! Thanks so much for the phone call today - wonderful to chat to you both. All love from us - Mum,Susie and Tessa xxxx
