Hello everyone,
I'm starting to think New Zealand does not want me to see anything. My next stop was suppose to be Milford sound but an avalanche closed the road for several days. Plans had to change again. We drove to a town called Te Anau and did a few hikes around there. The hiking was really cool. Fiordland is all a national reserve so none of the forests around here have ever been touched. We also went to see the glow worm caves. They take you for a tour of caves. There are small worms that live on the ceiling of the cave and produce a green light. It looks pretty cool in complete darkness. From Te Anau we drove to a small town called Manapori. We took a daytrip into Doubtful Sound...this is one of the many fiords along the southwest coast. It rained on us again but that made all the waterfalls even more spectacular! Its also a rain forest so I can't complain. Doubtful Sound was amazing. It is basically jagged mountains that drop straight into the water. There are tons of waterfalls and lots of seals, dolphins, and penguins (although I only saw one seal because of the rain). Next we are heading down to the southern most part of New Zealand...to Ivecargill and the Catlins.
Pictures to come....

Rain, rain go away...
Sounds like a scenic country and a photographer's paradise. Certainly on my list for the potential RTW late next year.
