The Greek islands are as spectacular and crazy as everyone says. I went to Mykonos first for 2 nights and stayed in a hostel on the beach. It wasn't the nicest place I have ever stayed but it was on the beach and close enough to the town. The sleeping accomidations were a camp cabin with 8 beds. My roomates....4 guys from Long Island,NY. What are the chances I end up in a room with people that only lived 30 minutes from me in NY? They were actually a lot of fun and I hung out with them quite a bit. I also kept running into these 6 girls from Arizona that I met on the ferry, so I hung out with them too. The first night I tried to take it easy but still only managed to get to sleep by 5 am. The second I adventured around the city for awhile and then went to the beach in the afternoon. That night there was a big party at one of the clubs on the beach. I went with the guys and ran into the Arizona girls again. It was crazy. The parties don't really start until 1-2 am. We danced until 6 in the morning. I tried to watch the sun come up at that point but just couldn't stay up any longer.
I caught the ferry to Santorini the following day. It turns out the girls from Arizona were on the same one. I ended up jumping in with there group and staying at the same hostel. Much nicer place! Anyway, I have been adventuring around Fira and the Caldera. Yesterday, we took a cruise to the volcano in the caldera and cruised around the island waiting for the sunset. It was a perfect day. Today, I am off to hike Ancient Theira...if I can figure out the buses.

Hey D, Sounds like you're having fun. Where are you going in S. America again? Ryan and I are planning a trip somewhere down there and it'd be cool to meet up with you. And guess what, the trip is for our wedding. We're getting hitched.

Yes the cruise to the volcano and watching the sunset from the waters off Oia (north end of the island)are just about the best thing on the island. If you have time you should go to Akrotiri; its like Pompeii.
