Finally, we made it to our goal of Acadia National Park.  This is the 27th park I have visited.  This doesn't include all the National Monuments, Historic Place, etc.  This is just the actual, "Park".

We arrived late, once again to our hotel, so we moved into our room and relaxed and planned the day ahead.

We woke up early and headed for the park.  Unfortunately, it was cloudy, so sunrise on Cadillac Mountain was not going to be.  We drove the park loop and worked our way to all the possible sites.  We had lunch at Jordan Pond and headed out again. We tried to get on a carriage ride around the park, but they war booked for several days.  Instead, we booked a boat tour around the harbor for the next day.

After completing the loop around the park, we explored Bar Harbor and had a really good dinner in town, explored a bit of the town and headed back to our room.

Day 2 at Acadia was once again cloudy.  So, once again, no sunrise.  Darn.  We just hoped the rain would hold off until our boat tour was over.  We drove to Northwest Harbor for our tour. The rain held off and we were able to see so much more of the park.  After our boat tour, it was off on another driving adventure.

Teri had read about Campobello, the FDR retreat in New Brunswick.  It was supposed to be about a 2 hour drive, but Carmen, our GPS took us a bit too far north in Maine and we had to come back. It was a BEAUTIFUL drive, but about 2 hours too long. I am glad we went, but once again, I ended up driving in the dark, in the rain.  I am getting kind of tired of driving in the dark, on roads with no lights.  Why don't they have any lights on the roads out here????
