!!!I try to update all previous stops as I'm already in Karnataka;it's slow but will come Mightily!!!
It feels like moving after a short week acclimating and rolling on the tourist-friendly beach.Varkala behind I take a train to Allepey two hours distant and embark on a local-cutty ferry that slides away over the backwaters for nearly three hours.It's great to observe so much lush green and waters,people moving living on the banks ,barges_boat traffic taking kids to the school,toddy shops where local farmers hang around sipping some special brew and the rythm slowing down following a cool breeze.
From narrow canals to wide open lake spaces it never stops to open new horizons.
Arrived in Kottayam,I spent the next morning ten miles away,in the bird sanctuary of kumarakom,where many species come gathering during winter.I realize that perfect time to catch sight of animals in a such places happens around 5 am before any Human disturbance occurs.Anyway,there's life even later,and again it's a privilege to walk in such majestic half jungle,preserved area.
I come back to town and cross chaotic jam traffic to the station to catch a train to Ernakulam my next delight.
