This trip was not designed to see Toronto as a destination, but rather to visit some family members - four sets, in fact. We were pressed for time, so we only managed to catch two of the four. We started with Larry, Nalu, Olivia and Cali in Toronto and they drove us to their cottage in Northern Ontario where we met with Gary & Wendy. Fortunately we had just had a visit from Terry, Dianne & William in Australia, and we are destined to see Samara and Shai a few times over the next month (including their wedding in August).

Not many pictures on this trip, but there are a couple of nice images of our nieces at play along the edge of Lake Ontario (Pictures 1 & 2). At about the same place a mother swan with her cygnets appeared near the shore (3) - there was a lot of bird-life nearby.

The cottage is about a 2-hour drive north of Toronto. Amazingly heavy traffic leaving the city, but the flow decreased and the beauty of the landscape emerged as we moved beyond commuting distance - an example is this lovely scene of the Gull River in Norland, about 2/3 of the way there (4). Gary & Wendy drove down from Loring in Northern Ontario (nearly three hours). We had a great visit and enjoyed the peaceful , family-oriented cottage community. The lake picture was taken from the dock (5). Many children spend portions of their summer here and still play on this tilted carousel (6).

Next. Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
