Where I stayed
Up by 05:30 am, a quick shower, dressed up and one last check of the packing list and I'm off to LCCT.
At the LCCT departure gate #12, flight AK5102 awaits me Vig and FR. 09:30 and we're up up and away.. Bye bye Putrajaya!
FR's 'wild man' Uncle George met us at the airport. First stop, Tanjung Aru Beach Resort for a simple nasi goreng lunch, and cold brew for the boys. The cool breeze was a bonus.
Next stop, Muzium Negeri Sabah, at Uncle George's insistence. Turned out to be an interesting trip, with a bit of sumazau-ing with the locals and a round of rice wine!
We put up a night at the The Summer Lodge. I took the single room with private bath, and soon regretted it. The room was shabby and dingy. The mattress must be made of paper machier and the pillows were a gruesome sight! I'd be better off in the dorm with the boys - theirs was a hundred times better. I think I'll sleep standing up tonight.
First night out in the city was uneventful. We were at the Waterfront but had to turn back because of the rain. There was a heavy downpour that night. Ah well, tomorrow is another day..!
postscript: Uncle George passed away 11 November 2012 of a heart attack. He was a good, generous man. May his soul rest in peace.
