Last few states and last 2 weeks of road trip and nearly enough of signtseeing as Helen is getting very blazae about historic sights! Can't believe how many churches we've seen and most are out in the middle of the boon docks. Most of our trip between cities has been on back tracks and not the interstate highways. The road system here has been awesome. Even many of the back tracks are 2 land roads.

Visited Myrtle Beach, Sth Carolina (similar to Gold Coast) but with wall to wall people and umbrella's on the beach. Couldn't believe the number of massively themed mini golf parks, there are rows of them down the main roads.
Spent a few days in Charleston, which we really enjoyed - amazing heritage areas and many antebellum homes. Basket weaver stalls lined the main roads leading to the city as well as in city proper.

Savannah, Georgia was quite similar to Charleston with it's history and lovely shady squares.  Noticed quite a contrast between the trourist areas and the much poorer areas not too far away.(We are in the deep south now), very different people with a "different" way of talking. Loved listening to the locals!!
Kingsland (related to Queensland) last stop before crossing into Florida. Too hot to do anything so utilised the campgrounds lovely pool and swam for the day.

Rainbow Springs, Florida, spent a couple of days in this State Park, where the water is fed by natural springs near by. Water temp is 72F all year, so we rented a tube and floated down the river for a couple of hours, was a bit chilly but refreshing.

Wanted to go on an airboat ride, so found the small town of Wildwood, where they had rides nearby. Too bad the 'gators' were in hibernation but really enjoyed and the boat operator had lots of stories to tell.
Florida has golf courses everywhere. There were 55 golf courses with a 20 mile radius of Hudson (quite a small town), where we stayed the night
Onto Clearwater, Tampa Bay, where we caught up with 3 people from our Peru trip. Highly entertaining night spent with them.
Last day in motor home spent in Daytona Beach after spending the day at Kennedy Space Centre. After returning the motor home we drove to Orlando and spent a day at Disneyworld. The plane ride home was better as we had a touch and go on landing in Denver. Storm hit as we were landing with strong wind gusts, so the pilot had to go around again after a quick one wheel touch down.

Highlight of the tour:  Peru & Macchu Picchu, the steaks in Argentina, Nashville and catching up with the people we met in Peru and Kentucky on their hom turf.

Have been back in Denver a few days now, so all up to date...........til next time.....when we will tell you about our week in Telluride and back to work!
