I decided that the best thing was to book a bus to Brisbane (only a couple of hours away) and stay there for 3 nights rather than the planned two. Had 6 hours to kill in Byron so walked on the beach, went to the lighthouse, had some beers and food and left. Bye bye Byron. Got to Brisbane around 7pm, checked into hostel, showered, changed, had a quick wander than fell asleep for 13 hours.
Day 97 - First real look around Brisbane and think it is OK. Not much to see, but luckily managed to catch the last few hours of the Australia - West Indies test match which the Aussies managed to wrap up in 3 days. Went to an Irish bar for a quick jar which turned into a quick 10 (those Canadians can talk...), good day all round.
Day 98 - First time in a long time i woke up with a hangover, but not to let it worry me, i headed up to a koala sanctuary a couple of hours away. Was a reasonable day until i got to the open kangaroo enclosure when a storm came in. I was soaked and got some truly awful photos. Attached for your confirmation. Headed back into the city to meet up with a few folk i had met in Peru. Had a good craic, a great steak, loads of beer and that was Brisbane
